From the D&D campaign I was in my freshman year
of college. Staryn was the character of my good friend and pseudo-roommate.
She's a priestess of Heseta, the goddess of "Peace, protection, and strength".
She made a fast impression on the party when we were ambushed and she distracted
the enemy by charging screaming down a loose shale hillside straight into
them with her staff. (The pendant around her neck is her holy symbol;
it's sorta upside-down b/c of the way she's running. The symbol on
it is Algiz, the rune of Protection.) I drew this over Thanksgiving
while spending the weekend with my brother, his wife, and their family,
along with the Drake picture in the "Junk" area. I also made great
headway on both my Pokemon Gold *and* Silver cartridges. Thanksgiving
2000 was an exciting time for me. :P
This was from before I changed the way I draw humans,
but I still like the pose and the action.
