This was a rather bizarre little cartoon drawn for the senior issue of the Mane Report, the Journalism class's newspaper for my high school.  (Heidelberg High School, the army base HS in Heidelberg, Germany.)  Arthur the Grasshopper was somewhat of a celebrity after our class's senior prank...
A few of the seniors hit half the pet stores in town and bought large numbers of feeder grasshoppers, crickets, and mealworms, which were released into the school before school officially opened in the morning.  One of the seniors, and a Journalism student, who was fairly well known around the rather small school (graduating class 151), adopted a grasshopper as a pet, which he named "Arthur", carried around with him everywhere for a few days, and talked to.  Said senior even did the announcements that day, ending them with a greeting from Arthur to the school.  After the few days were over, he released Arthur outside.  (I'll admit that, when some of the girls of weaker constitutions were freaking out and shrieking in the halls over a few mealworms, I picked them up, held them up to the girls and said, "Geez, look at it, it can't hurt you!" - to which they naturally ran like Hell...)
